Overgrown Overgrown is an ongoing new series of work. During the pandemic, I noticed the spread of "invasive" plants in many cases, decorative vines that had escaped from gardens in a nature preserve in New Jersey. To a casual observer, all one would see is robust greenery, without realizing that a plant war was taking place. The invasive species Porcelain Berry, Japanese Knotweed, Multiflora Rose, Mile-a-Minute Weed scale and cover native plants and trees, creating a weird topiary. My work seeks to capture the uncanny landscapes that result.
